June 20, 2010 I have signed a contract with an outstanding
publisher, ZOVA Books. They are releasing my new Jimmy O'Brien
novel, DETOUR TO MURDER , October 12, and they are also
publishing a brand new Jimmy O'Brien e-book, EXPECTATION OF
MURDER. Stay tuned.

my new book, DETOUR TO MURDER, and that's what the

February 4, 2010 This one falls under the “They’ve Got to be
Kidding Dept.”
GUILTY OR ELSE has been nominated by LEFT COAST CRIME 2010
for the Panik Award, which will be given in honor of the late Paul
Anik, past Chairman of Left Coast Crime. The award will be given
for the best Los Angeles Noir book published in 2009. Nominees
include Michael Connelly Charlie Houston, Harley Jane Kozak, and
others. I’m humbled and honored. Update: I didn't win, but hey,
neither did Michael.
November 21, 2009. Over 600 people attended Joan Hanson's
Men of Mystery at the Irvine Marroitt. I was one of the fifty male
mystery writers in attendance. The two guest speakers, Tim
Dorsey and Michael Connelly were fantastic. Do yourself a favor
and join us next year. See photos.
October 3, 2009. I had a great day in the park at the Duarte
Festival of Authors. Met many of my readers, participated in a
mystery panel, and spent a few minutes talking with the greatest
living writer, Ray Bradbury. I signed a copy of my book, THE
BRIMSTONE MURDERS for him and he signed FAHRENHEIT 451 for
me. I got the better of the deal.

Duarte Festival of Authors. I'll be signing copies of my books.

allowed to sign my books at this year's Bouchercon, the mystery
readers convention. It'll be held in Indianapolis in October.
July 15, 2009: Joan Hanson of Men of Mystery fame invited me to
participate in the 10th annual conference held at the Irvine
Marriott on November 21, 2009. Michael Connelly is going to be
the main speaker. Seating is limited to 500 guests. So register
