Karadimos: The bad guy in my first book. I don't
want to tell you who this guy is based on. He might
still be alive, and I don't want him knocking on my
door. But I'll say this, the guy was bad, as bad as
they come.

And about a thousand other interesting characters
peppered throughout the Jimmy O'Brien series.

Jimmy O'Brien; No, I'm not Jimmy O'Brien. No,
he's not my cousin, Jimmy Sherratt—who once was
a L.A. Cop working out of the Newton Street
Division and now is a successful businessman—
either. I don't know who I based the lead character
on, but I think we all have a few of Jimmy's traits in

Rita: Rita is a composite of several women that
were employees of mine in the past. Rita, the
character, is fictional, but the wonderful women
who worked for me are not, and I miss them.

Most of the characters in my novels are
fictitious, but a few are real. For example, the
gangster Joe Sica was indeed real. He was the
leader of the notorious Sica Gang that
operated around L.A. in the forties and fifties.

The locations used in the book are also real.
Downey is still a thriving community fifteen
miles east of Los Angeles, but most of the
restaurants that Jimmy and Sol frequented in
Downey are gone now.

Totally made up, again, a composite. Bobbi is all the
intelligent and beautiful women that I've met over the
years. I enjoyed thinking about them when I wrote her
description.
