On February 15 through 18, Karen Syed,CEO of Echelon Press--my publisher-- and I
were speakers and panelists at the SCWC held in San Diego, CA. Below are a few
photos taken at the fabulous event. I had fun and I'm sure Karen did too.
Friday Evening at the Hotel

Karen Syed, CEO and publisher of
Echelon Press; some author bum,
sucking up: Mike Sirota,  my book
editor; and Michele Scott, the
beautiful and talented author of the
Wine Mystery series, and Horse
Mystery series from Berkley Prime
Crime.

We are about to enjoy a prime rib
dinner at the Crowne Plaza Hotel
dining room. The dinner was hosted
by Mike. Thanks, Mike!
An author praying for a publishing deal. Karen doesn't look too
convinced.
"Do you have MySpace?"  she asked.
Karen at the podium
during her
PRE-PUBLISHED
PROMOTION panel.

She held the audience
spellbound with her wit
and profound advice.
"Put that book down and get back to your seat, before I have to sic
Mac's Irish wolfhound on you.
"Aren't I the cutest publisher
that ever walked the planet?"
she asked.

THE AGENT PANEL
All writers' conferences have agent panels, and this one was no exception. Below
is the group of highly dignified agents rambling on about something or other.
Check the book cover perched on the podium behind them.
A Closer View
MY GOSH! Is that another Echelon Press book, the THE BRIMSTONE MURDERS that
the agents are raving about?
